Animals - My First Slide Show

Starting KidPix
  1. Click Start / Programs / Kidpix Deluxe 3 / KidPix Deluxe 3
  2. Hit Enter when the KidPix main screen appears
  3. Look for your name in the list
    • If your name is there, click on it
    • If your name is not there, highlight the name in the box and type yours
  4. Click GO
  5. You now see the KidPix drawing screen
  6. The Toolbox is along the left edge
  7. Tool choices are along the bottom edge
Creating a Title Page
  1. Click the first tool in the toolbox - this lets your set your background
  2. The tool choices in the bottom change - select Nature from the list
  3. Find a background that you like - point your mouse to it and drag it to the slide
  4. Click the third tool in the toolbox - this is the moving animal
  5. The tool choices in the bottom change - select Alphabet from the list
    • Now you see colored letters along the bottom
    • Point your mouse to each letter of your name and drag to the slide
  6. Now you must save this slide
    • Click the floppy disk along the right-hand side
    • The Save box appears
    • Type your name and the number "1" after it. This is the first slide
Creating Your Animal Slides
  1. Start a new slide by clicking on the red firecracker on the right-hand side
  2. Click on the second tool in the toolbox - this is the animal standing still
  3. The tool choices in the bottom change - select Animals from the list
  4. Look for animals that you would find on a Farm
  5. Drag each animal on to the slide
  6. When you find all the animals that you can, save the slide
    • Click the floppy disk along the right-hand side
    • The Save box appears
    • Type your name and the number "2" after it. This is the second slide
  7. Pets
  8. Drag each animal on to the slide
  9. When you find all the animals that you can, save the slide
    • Click the floppy disk along the right-hand side
    • The Save box appears
    • Type your name and the number "3" after it. This is the third slide
  10. Look for Wild Animals
  11. Drag each animal on to the slide
  12. When you find all the animals that you can, save the slide
    • Click the floppy disk along the right-hand side
    • The Save box appears
    • Type your name and the number "4" after it. This is the fourth slide

Creating Your Slide Show
  1. Click the slide tool at the bottom of the right-hand side
  2. You see the Slide Show screen
  3. Click the yellow tool under Slide 1
  4. The Load Slide screen is displayed
  5. Find the file named with your name and the number 1
  6. Click that slide and click Open
  7. Click the yellow tool under Slide 2
  8. The Load Slide screen is displayed
  9. Find the file named with your name and the number 2
  10. Click that slide and click Open
  11. Click the yellow tool under Slide 3
  12. The Load Slide screen is displayed
  13. Find the file named with your name and the number 3
  14. Click that slide and click Open
WOW!!! You have done so much - you should be very very proud!

Running Your Slide Show
  1. Click the green arrow on the Slide Show screen
  2. Watch Your Show Go!!
