The Menu Bar

The Menu Bar is found directly beneath your title.
It contains WORDS, generally starting with FILE and ending with HELP. Two Ways To Use The Menu
The first way is to move your mouse until your cursor is pointed at the option you want, then to click.

Here’s the other way.
Look at your Menu Bar. Notice that one letter in each option is underlined. You can activate that menu without using your mouse.
Just hold down the ALT KEY (to the left and right of your SPACEBAR on your KEYBOARD) and hit the underlined letter.

Example: You can activate the File Menu by holding ALT and hitting F.
Nifty Things on The Menus
Whenever you activate a Menu Option, a Drop-Down menu appears. It is divided into sections with related functions in each, and many of the options contain symbols next to them.
Here’s what those symbols mean:
Ellipses (three dots) A Dialog Box will appear
Bullet (large centered dot) A Bullet will appear in a section of a drop-down menu.
This section contains options that have a common function; the BULLET indicates which one of them is exclusively selected. The BULLET is a toggle switch, either on or off.
With a BULLET, only one option from the group can be selected.
Check Mark This appears in another section, also containing common options. This is also a Toggle Switch.
The difference between a Check Mark and a Bullet is that a Check Mark permits Multiple Options to be selected.
Arrowhead Indicates that another drop-down menu will appear
Control Key Option Sometimes, you will see something cryptic looking like Ctrl+N.
All of these are called Keyboard Shortcuts.
This means that, in the above example, you'd hold down the Ctrl key and the N at the same time to activate that particular command.
