Step Back & Repulse Monkey

This move begins after Play Guitar,with the left foot forward, ahead of the right foot.

  1. Place left foot flat on floor
  2. Turn both palms to face upward
First Monkey
  1. Turn body slightly toward 2:00 from Tan Tien
  2. As body turns, left arm extends slightly, right arm begins to make a large circle
  3. Right arm gently circles until right palm is facing down, near the right ear
  4. Lift the left heel, then the toe
  5. Slide the left foot backward, but not straight back. The left foot slides backward at a slight angle. Foot slides back and stops behind left hip.
  6. Place left foot flat on floor
  7. Shift weight to left foot.
  8. As weight shifts, slide left hand back, palm up, to rest near left hip
  9. Also as weight shifts, slide right arm forward, palm down, about throat height

Second Monkey
  1. Turn body slightly toward 10:00 from Tan Tien
  2. As body turns, left arm begins to make a large circle, right arm turns upward
  3. Left arm gently circles until right palm is facing down, near the left ear
  4. Lift the right heel, then the toe
  5. Slide the right foot backward, but not straight back. The right foot slides backward at a slight angle. Foot slides back and stops behind right hip.
  6. Place right foot flat on floor
  7. Shift weight to right foot.
  8. As weight shifts, slide right hand back, palm up, to rest near right hip
  9. Also as weight shifts, slide left arm forward, palm down, about throat height
