Diagonal Single Whip
- Shift weight to left foot - turn body to left, pivoting on right heel
- Right toes turn left - place right foot flat - both feet flat on floor - arms move with body
- Weight on left foot, body turns more left, right hand forms hook
- Lift left heel - pivot on toes - Shift weight to right foot
- Turn right, arms move with body
- Left arm sweeps down in front of body & then right, palm upward, left fingertips point at right elbow crease
- Right arm stays still - body turns to left - left arm moves with turn of body - drop left elbow - keep palm facing you
- 10:00 - Left palm turns outward, step to 10:00 - shift weight to left foot
- Right toes approximately 1:00; - left toes, arm, nose, Tan Tien face 10:00

- Left arm relaxes down to waist level - right arm lifts to shoulder height - right hand forms hook
- Body faces past 10:00
- Lift left heel - pivot on toes - Shift weight to right foot
- Turn right, arms move with body
- Left arm sweeps down in front of body & then right, palm upward, left fingertips point at right elbow crease
- Right arm stays still - body turns to left - left arm moves with turn of body - drop left elbow - keep palm facing you
- 10:00 - Left palm turns outward, step to 10:00 - shift weight to left foot
